Atlanta, Georgia southern rock/outlaw country act BLACKBERRY SMOKE have signed a European record deal with long-standing British independent label Earache Records, as the label continues it’s slow move away from it’s Extreme Metal roots.
Consisting of members CHARLIE STARR (guitar/vocals), PAUL JACKSON (guitar/vocals), RICHARD TURNER (bass/vocals), BRANDON STILL (keys) and BRIT TURNER (drums), BLACKBERRY SMOKE expertly mix elements of southern rock, blues, soul and more than a touch of outlaw country, earning themselves a passionate fanbase that continues to grow. The band have already toured with the likes of ZZ TOP and LYNYRD SKYNYRD, and earned heaps of praise as a hard-working group which performs up to 250 shows a year.
BLACKBERRY SMOKE’s critically acclaimed 2012 album, THE WHIPPOORWILL, will now finally see a release in Europe through Earache on February 17th, 2014. The European release will include an exclusive bonus song, “Country Side of Life”, as well as bonus live material.
The band are also due to perform their first ever UK show on November 13th at the Barfly in London. Tickets for the show go on sale tomorrow – Friday, September 27th – and are expected to be in high demand, so fans are urged to order theirs quickly.
