RED FANG have announced an extensive run of European tour dates in support of their forthcoming album Whales and Leeches. The Portland, Oregon band will head to Europe in February and March 2014 in a tour spread across two legs that take in Germany, UK, France, Spain, Norway and several other countries. A full list of dates is below. Support on both sections of the tour will come from label mates and fellow riff-merchants, LORD DYING.
Aaron Beam (bass, vocals) commented:
“Blimey! We have been cooped up in the studio for too long, and can’t wait to play these songs live! Please wear flip flops to these shows, because you can expect to have your socks blown off. We plan to bring some very powerful fans and point them at your feet.
One of our favorite countries of the world is EUROPE!! We often feel more welcome there than in our own homes. We definitely get more high fives in Europe than we do for taking out the trash. By the way, I know Europe is not a country.
In some breaking news, I have decided early 2014 will see the re absorption of the USA by the UK! Well, at least for a few days when we come play a handful of shows there. By the way, does anyone ever put Colman’s mustard on black pudding?”
Whales and Leeches was recorded with producer Chris Funk (Decemberists) and mixed by Vance Powell (White Stripes, Raconteurs, Kings of Leon) – the same creative forces behind RED FANG’s debut album, Murder The Mountains, which was released in 2011. This time around, RED FANG have enlisted the help of guests Mike Scheidt (Yob) and Pall Jenkins (The Black Heart Procession), helping to propel the album, and indeed the band into the upper stratosphere of hard rock and metal elite. Following the success of Murder The Mountains (with the album selling 50,000 copies to date), RED FANG have toured Europe several times with the likes of Baroness and Black Tusk, and completed a six week tour across the continent this summer.
Whales and Leeches will be released in the UK on 21st October; physical copies are currently available to pre-order from the Relapse store, HERE, and to obtain an exclusive track, digital pre-orders are available via iTunes HERE.
Whales and Leeches is released on October 15th in North America, October 18th in Benelux, Germany and Finland, and October 21st in the UK and the rest of the world.
