Five more bands have been added to the bill of the London leg of the Headbanger’s Balls tour.
Joining the previously announced Fleshrot are:
2010 Metal 2 The Masses winners, Flayed Disciple
Groundbreaking extremists, Meta-stasis
Brummie bruisers Morgue Orgy
Southampton heavyweights, Reprisal and the band who’s fault this all is: Reign Of Fury
There are more band announcements to come.
Talking of announcements, Headbanger’s Balls are fairly brimming with pride to announce that, for the grand finale of this year’s tour, a mighty alliance has been formed with Beardfest, which this year will be held on 6th December at The Flapper in Birmingham.
2014 marks the 6th anniversary of Reign of Fury vocalist Bison Steed’s recovery from testicular cancer.
In recognition of those who saved him, those who have suffered like him, and those who can avoid the same ordeal, the Headbanger’s Balls are a UK tour in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust to raise funds and more importantly awareness of testicular cancer. Six band members out of 201 who played last year’s Headbanger’s Balls turned out to be survivors of TC. Lads, that’s makes OUR odds 1 in 33, and most were under 40. Chances of a Testicular Cancer tour having those odds with no selection bias? Utterly mindblowing.
They all survived because they SPOTTED THE SYMPTOMS and they SAW A DOCTOR.
It’s not just men either. For every victim of Testicular Cancer, there’s a devastated mother left behind grieving the loss of a son. A wife, husband, girlfriend or boyfriend mourning the loss of their love. Children who’ll never see their Dad again, which is more than I want to think about when I only put my 4 year old son to bed a couple of hours ago.
