KWS

The five time Grammy nominated and multi-platinum selling blues guitarist Kenny Wayne Shepherd is set to release lead single ‘You Can’t Judge a Book by Its Cover’ from highly anticipated latest covers album “Goin’ Home

Goin’ Home (released 5th May 2014) is a celebration of KWS’s biggest influences, peers and friends including tracks originally recorded by the likes of BB King, Albert King, Bo Diddley and Stevie Ray Vaughan amongst many others.

The LP also includes superstar guest performers and musicians in the shape of Ringo Starr (The Beatles), Joe Walsh (The Eagles) and
Warren Haynes (The Allman Brothers Band/David Allen Coe).

Shepherd’s band is also a who’s who of musicians and players alike; drummer Chris Layton (Stevie Ray Vaughan/Double Trouble) is a 2014 Musicians Hall of Fame inductee, bassist Tony Franklin (ex-Firm), keyboard player Riley Osbourn (Willie Nelson) and long serving vocalist Noah Hunt.

The Kenny Wayne Shepherd Band will tour Europe to support the release, including two exclusive UK performances: 30th April at London’s Islington Academy and 1st May at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

Previous album ‘How I Go’ saw huge UK radio support including 3x BBC Radio 2 daytime playlists, BBC Maida Vale session for the Paul Jones Blues Show, session and interview for BBC Radio 2’s Simon Mayo in addition to the London stop of the tour being filmed for the BBC.
