According to Swiss news sources, HR Giger, surrealist artist and friend of Tom G Warrior has died at the age of 73.

As pretty much everyone reading this more than likely know, Giger was part of the special effects team that won an Academy Award for Best Achievement for Visual Effects for their design work on the classic film Alien. He was inducted into the Science Fiction and Fantasy Hall of Fame in 2013.  He also has a couple of bars in his native Switzerland named after him, painted multiple album covers for the likes of Celtic Frost, Emerson Lake & Palmer and most recently Triptykon.

Not only that, he designed signature series guitars for Ibanez and a mic stand for Korn’s Jonathon Davies.

The sympathies of all here at The Wyrd Ways Rock Show are extended to his family and friends.
