In a shock announcement, Dan Bate has left Manchester-based Metal band, Absolva. The split is entirely amicable and both the remaining members of the band and the management wish Dan every success and good fortune with the future.
In a statement, the band and management said, “Although we’re more than a little shocked at this turn of events, the situation has been entirely amicable and we have nothing but good to say about Dan and his period with the band. The past two years have seen him working hard, playing some incredible shows and we’ve had many laughs together where his wit and humour have been especially welcome during long hours on the road. In this period he’s grown significantly as a musician. We’re very sad to see him depart and we thank him wholeheartedly for all his contribution to the music and work of Absolva”.
Following this departure, Iced Earth bass player, Luke Appleton will be stepping in to fulfil Absolva’s European tour dates up to the end of this October. This effectively means that Fury UK are reuniting for this tour. The tour includes the two previously announced Scottish dates at the end of August, plus the shows in mainland Europe between 5th September and 25th October. This line-up will also be playing Absolva’s tour dates as Blaze Bayley’s band once Dan Bate has signed off with his final show in Crete this weekend.
