Early Raven albums re-released in June

Raven to re-release three out of their first four albums next month.

Before Thrash and Speed Metal truly became genres, NWOBHM bands such as Venom and Raven developed a sound that was picked up and taken on by bands such as Metallica, Slayer and Exodus.

Dissonance Records are re-issuing some of the original Raven albums, namely their 1981 debut, Rock Until You Drop, 1983’s All For One and the live album (released to stop their original label, Neat Records from releasing a compilation) Live At The Inferno on 9th June 2017.

If you’re interested in hearing the origins of Thrash Metal, before it moved over to The Bay Area of San Francisco, Rock Until You Drop and All For One are essentials.  Megadeth and Exodus especially continue to be heavily influenced by the Geordie trio, and if you want proof of the relationship, compare James Hetfield‘s performance on Kill ‘Em All with pretty much any of John Gallagher‘s.
