TESSERACT present 'Of Matter (Live At Sphere Studios)' video

TESSERACT present ‘Of Matter (Live At Sphere Studios)’ video

UK’s progressive rock band, TesseracT, present the first part of their latest album ‘Altered State’ in a breathtaking version live in the studio. It follows a tradition the band already started on their debut album ‘One’ as the band explains:

“Way back in 2010, we filmed a live recording of ‘Concealing Fate’ at Sphere Studios with Francesco Carmeli. We enjoyed this so much that we have always wanted to do it again, and ‘Altered State‘ gave us the perfect opportunity to do so. Sphere Studios London has now closed and moved to L.A, so it was especially important for us to go back and film the recording of ‘Of Matter‘ before Francesco moved the studio.

This video is hopefully the first of four, that cover the whole of the latest album, where we aim to film four different recordings of the four different sections of ‘Altered State’ in four different studios throughout our small little world. As with everything TesseracT, the video shows the slight evolution of each track as we take it from the studio on to the stage. We hope you guys enjoy it as much as we did!”

TesseracT are right now in Australia playing the massive Soundwave festival tour. Next stop is North America. It will be TesseracT’s third US tour supporting their critically acclaimed ‘Altered State’ album. Former touring partners and label mates, Intronaut, who will be coming fresh off a tour of their own with Between The Buried and Me and Deafheaven will be direct support. To make these events even more special, instrumentalists, DIY prog artist, Cloudkicker, will be touring for the first time ever with the members of Intronaut as his backing band. European fans can see the band on a couple of summer festivals that will be announced soon.

JOB FOR A COWBOY announce Danny Walker as studio drummer for new album

Job for a Cowboy are currently writing their fourth full length album, and the follow up to 2012’s “Demonocracy” album. Last week, it was revealed that the band would be moving forward without long time drummer Jon “Charn” Rice.

Rice personally explained the circumstances surrounding his departure:
“As of this past August, I have decided to part ways with Job for a Cowboy. There are a few reasons for this, none of which I’m going to get into. That being said, I have no intentions of stopping touring or playing. I honestly love to tour and play live with new people, so I look forward to playing in new musical arenas in the future. The dudes and I are on very good terms with this and they understand the decision. They have a new record in the making and I’m extremely excited to hear it.

Thanks again to everyone.”

With a new album in the process of being written and scheduled to be recorded with Jason Suecof this winter, Job for a Cowboy have enlisted the immensely capable drumming talents of Danny Walker to fill in as the studio drummer. Walker is known for his work in Intronaut, as well as having performed with Exhumed, Jesu, Phobia, Murder Construct, and more.

Danny Walker comments on being a part of the new Job for a Cowboy album: “I’m thrilled to be working with these guys on this record! I look forward to challenging myself and contributing to a fresh and different outlet!”

Job for a Cowboy bassist Nick Schendzielos has offered the following update:
“Well my friends the time has come and The Charn has officially decided to step off the JFAC train. Absolutely no hahd feelins or nothin! We love the dude, cherish the memories we made with him, and in all likelihood will be seeing him again very soon…which brings up the next awesome piece of news…

“Our phenomenally talented friend Danny Walker is going to grace our next full length with his decidedly delicious drum tracks! We are seriously excited to hear what it’s going to turn out like- let the anticipation build!”

In the mean time there’s some killer extra-curricular content to keep you all satiated:
-Tony is busting out new play-throughs from some tasty songs off Demonocracy that you can check out on his page Tony Sannicandro’s The Leads are Weak
-Here is a promo shot for Nick Schendzielos’s new video! Matthewknowsphotos and LANDON MEIER, whose work you will definitely come to know and be blown away by are contributing, so needless to say things will be “stepped up”.
-And finally, if you’re in L.A. this weekend (Nov. 9-10th), on Sunday Nick is doing a clinic alongside Evan Brewer for the annual “Bass Player Live!”- event –

bass player live

This year the Bass Player LIVE! concert will feature an all-star band of rock luminaries performing with and honoring Black Sabbath’s Geezer Butler, including: Lee Rocker (Stray Cats), Billy Sheehan (The Winery Dogs, David Lee Roth), Blasko (Ozzy Osbourne), Buzz Campbell (Lee Rocker), Charlie Benante (Anthrax), Corey Taylor (Stone Sour, Slipknot), David Ellefson (Megadeth), Frank Bello (Anthrax), JD Deservio (Black Label Society), dUg Pinnick (King’s X, Tres Mts.), Kerry King (Slayer), Rex Brown (Kill Devil Hill, Pantera), Rudy Sarzo (Blue Oyster Cult), Tal Wilkenfeld, Zakk Wylde (Black Label Society), and more. Doors for The Fonda Theatre open at 6:30 PM on Saturday, November 9 and the concert begins at 7:30 PM.

Job for a Cowboy, whose lineup is rounded out by vocalist Jonny Davy, guitarists Al Glassman and Tony Sannicandro, along with bassist Nick Schendzielos, will be recording their new album within the next few months at Audio Hammer studios with prominent producer Jason Suecof. This will be the band’s fourth consecutive project with Suecof, in addition to Ruination (2009), Gloom (2011), and Demonocracy (2012). More details will be released as they are made available.
